What  Will  it  Cost?

Hopefully nothing! We have access to a pool of funding contracts for most people coming to counselling for the first time. Our current contracts include ACC Sensitive Claims, Pinnacle Midland Health Network, Hauraki PHO, National Hauora Coalition as well as EAP contracts with Instep, OCP, and Workplace Support

In Level 2, some services are available in person but most continue to be delivered remotely. Although Level 1 means services can be offered in-person, some of our Providers will be offering remote only – please check with your therapist when you book your next session. GP Referral   for adults

  • Ask your GP to send a referral for counselling through to their Primary Health Organisation (PHO) – either Pinnacle Midland Health, Hauraki PHO, or National Hauora Coalition.
  • Once we receive the referral we will make contact with you to arrange the first appointment.
  • You will be entitled to 4 – 6 sessions. We can let you know when we receive your referral.
  • Sessions expire 12 weeks after referral date.
  • There is a 6 month stand down after your last session before you can reapply to your GP for another counselling referral.

Youth (aged 12 – 19) do not need a GP referral.  We can arrange the funding from our end

Private Counselling  Fees

  • Please request a quote
  • A $70 booking fee secures your appointment
  • The balance of the counselling fee is due on day of appointment – we accept cash or internet banking
  • In the event of late cancellation or changes within 24 hours, or non-attendance without notice, a fee of $70 may be incurred.
  • The bank account details are HEART Counselling 01-0450-0460776-00
  • A counselling package can be tailored for you, and purchased using Genoapay to spread the payments while you receive support

EAP Services

  • Some large organisations offer Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to their employees
  • Your HR department can tell you if you have access to EAP counselling
  • EAP usually offer three fully funded sessions to employees and their family members
  • We have EAP contracts with Instep, OCP and Workplace Support
  • to access funding, talk to your HR department or contact your EAP Service directly

ACC Sensitive Claims

  • covers most forms of sexual violation, rape, unwanted sexual contact, or indecent assault on an adult
  • ALL sexual contact with children
  • female genital mutilation
  • It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened
  • Whether you have a claim lodged with ACC or not we can support you through the whole process.

Suicide Support – Waikato

Any adult or child who has been affected by suicide and resides under the Waikato District Health Board is eligible for funded support.

Cancellations

  • Late cancellation, late changes to appointments and non-attendance without notice, are referred to as a DNA.
  • We understand things happen – illness, accidents etc. As soon as you know you cannot make your appointment, please let us know
  • If you are receiving funded sessions, we are able to cover the first DNA. In the event of a second DNA, a fee of $70 may be incurred
  • Private paying clients – In the event of late cancellation or changes to your appointment, or non-attendance without notice, a $70 fee may be incurred.

DNA – more than 24 hrs notice: $no charge
DNA – 5 to 24 hours notice: $70
DNA – less than 5 hours notice: $90
